Image Color Extractor

Image Color Extractor analyzes any image file (drop, paste, or click to load) and returns up to 16 dominant colors with percentage weights. Uses in-browser pixel sampling and bucket quantization — no upload, no server round-trip. Click any swatch to copy its hex, or Copy All for the full palette.

Designers and developers constantly need to extract colors from images — pulling brand colors from a logo, building a palette from a photograph, matching UI to reference artwork. Image Color Extractor handles this in-browser with no upload. Drop, paste, or click to load an image (PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP, GIF). The tool draws a downscaled version to a canvas, samples every 4th pixel, buckets them into a reduced color space (5-bit per channel, ~32K buckets), averages each bucket's actual RGB, then picks the top-N most populous buckets while merging near-duplicates (within 24 Manhattan distance in RGB). The result is a clean, representative palette that reflects the actual visual composition — not just the most-exact-pixel-match colors. A count slider (3–16) lets you dial in palette size based on what you need. Each swatch shows hex value and percentage of pixels; click to copy individually, or Copy All to grab them in one go.
